Bicycle Mechanics - No experience necessary, training provided!
Vélocity's Del Ray warehouse at 1502 Mt. Vernon Ave. is where donated bikes get a second life — and our experienced staff are ready to show you how, no experience required.
What You'll Do
- Learn to refurbish donated bikes alongside experienced Vélocity staff and Véloteers
- Work at your own pace as you build skills, from basic tune-ups to full overhauls
- Help get bikes ready for sale or donation
Why This Role Matters
Refurbished bikes fuel Vélocity's mission two ways: some are sold at affordable prices to help cover our operating expenses, while others are given free of charge to individuals in need. Every bike you help bring back to life either keeps our doors open or puts someone new on two wheels.
Getting Started
No experience necessary — training is provided by our most seasoned Véloteers. Anyone interested can sign up on our Meetup page: https://www.meetup.com/velocitycoop/
Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian accompany them to their first volunteering experience and sign a liability waiver on their behalf
- Volunteers under 16 must have a parent or guardian supervise them at all times while volunteering with Vélocity
