In the first hour of family registration, 800+ family members have signed up to receive free new toys.
Approximately half of them will receive toys through the City's Holiday Sharing program. The other half will receive NEW toys, books, and games through toys4ALX, Volunteer Alexandria's community-wide toy donation drive. This year, we excited to partner with the Fairlington United Methodist Church.
Our goal this year is to serve ALL children, 0-10 years old which are approximately 700! And we need your help! Please see below and let us know how you would like to join this effort.

VolALX engages hundreds of people including businesses, apartment complexes, congregations, schools, scout groups, and other social clubs, as well as numerous individuals who participate by setting up a toy collection bin, organizing holiday parties, donating money to helping us put this all together and purchase materials and snacks for volunteers, getting friends and families involved, and volunteering.
Since 2014, VolALX has implemented this toy drive to support Alexandria’s children. We support the Fund for Alexandria’s Children’s Holiday Sharing program and other agencies in need, as well as low-income working families not registered with an agency. And we need your help!
2023 was a great year for the toy donation drive.
Thousands of toys were collected for over 700 children and youth, over 180 volunteers engaged in service, more than 70 businesses and groups set up collection boxes and held parties to collect toys, and hundreds of individuals and families donated one or more items! Thank you to the Fund for Alexandria's Child and the Leonard Chick Armstrong Recreation Center for your support.
