Teens Club Virtual Volunteer (7th-8th Grade)

Come help us make a difference in a child's life. We need people of character to volunteer to work with our students, grades 6-8, supporting them in their academic development at our after-school program, Teens Club. As most of our volunteer opportunities is with children, we require all volunteers to submit a volunteer application with references, complete a background check, participate in child safety training and program training. All these efforts are to keep our children safe. As a faith-based not-for-profit, we openly offer Christian education at our programs. It is not a requirement to subscribe to a certain faith to volunteer, but we do suggest only those comfortable with open Christian teaching to volunteer.

Individual Park Clean-ups

Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities Individual Park Clean-Ups Volunteer Alexandria is teaming up to support the City of Alexandria by performing individual park clean-ups to improve the appearance and condition of Alexandria's small urban parks and open spaces. Individual clean-ups include you, a trash bag, your favorite park, and reporting back through the Clean Swell app. Sign-up below to register for a park clean-up that will take place between the Friday sign-up date and the following Wednesday. These clean-ups are for litter pick up only! Please put all trash in the trash bags and do not separate any trash from recycling if your clean-up is along the shoreline. Any trash found along the shoreline is considered a hazard and needs to be thrown away using the same bag. Leave trash bags near a City trash can at the park for the regular trash pick-up. Alexandria City Public School (ACPS) will provide two days worth of breakfast and lunch meals with a snack pack free for any enrolled ACPS student on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Friday distribution will include a meal(s) for Saturday. Volunteers are needed at TC Williams High School at 8:30AM to assist with helping distribute meals curbside to walk-ups and vehicles. All volunteers must wear a mask over nose and mouth. All mask safety guidelines are expected to be followed while volunteering onsite. ACPS site staff have the right to redirect and/or release any volunteer(s) who are not compliant. Please refer to guidelines and procedures of mask wearing HERE. Basic Computer Skills Teacher

TOPSoccer Buddy w/ Alexandria Soccer

We are looking for Buddies to support our TOPSoccer Program. The TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any child who has a mental or physical disability. Our goal is to enable young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the ASA family. Help Make Laundry Detergent

Calling youth volunteers! Join us in making laundry detergent to donate towards helping clean clothes at the Carpenter's Shelter. We will discuss homelessness and other ways youth volunteers can get involved to help local Alexandrians. The Carpenter's Shelter's mission is to support people who are experiencing and are at risk of homelessness to achieve sustainable independence through shelter & housing location, guidance, education, and advocacy. Once confirmed as a volunteer for the day, the volunteer will have their temperature taken and proceed to their station. Volunteers with a temperature ≥100.0 degrees will be asked to return home, contact your physician, and follow the quarantine requirements. Registration to sign up for ACPS volunteer dates/times will close Wednesdays at 8:00AM prior - including Monday, Wednesday, and Friday shifts of the following week. Please plan accordingly. Organize & Bag Donations For Distribution

Just like it sounds. You will organize and bag food and cleaning supply donations for distribution to our Casa Chirilagua families and the wider Chirilagua Community. Before you volunteer, please ensure: - That you have NOT been at any places and therefore exposed where people have tested positive for COVID-19? If so, do not volunteer. - That you DO NOT exhibit any symptoms of a respiratory illness including fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing or difficulty breathing now or in the past 14 days?
