Volunteer Alexandria inspires and mobilizes people, six years and older, to volunteer for a stronger Alexandria community. Our Volunteers are a powerful force for solving community problems, and are essential for a healthy, productive, and engaged community.
Interested in Supporting Afghan Newcomers? Afghan arrivals have experienced significant trauma, uncertainty and stress during the evacuation process. If you are interested in supporting the resettlement efforts, please go through one of the agencies listed below. Those agencies assist individuals and families who resettle in our area to access services as quickly as possible so that they can focus on rebuilding their lives and establishing support networks in the community.
- Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington
- Lutheran Social Services National Capital Area
- Ethiopian Community Development Council
Staying Safe While Volunteering - We follow the CDC guidelines and in addition, encourages people to still wear a mask while donating time. And, please check with each organization what their policies are for volunteers being vaccinated. Most organizations and the school system are requiring people to be fully vaccinated and/or tested on a weekly basis. Click HERE to view more details about safety when volunteering.
Thank you to our Supporters, Foundations, and the many individuals who donated!
