National Recovery Month Event Volunteer

Each September, National Recovery Month works to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible.
This year, the Department of Community & Human Services will be hosting a Recovery Month Event where all members of our City of Alexandria community are invited. We will celebrate the accomplishments of people going through different stages of recovery while recognizing the efforts of community groups that have helped or are currently involved in the individuals’ recovery process.

• Address: Ben Brenman Park
• Time: 2:30 – 6 p.m.
We are expecting to have 300+ people attending this event, and we will appreciate any help from volunteers willing to support the recovery community. We will need a total of 9 volunteers, over the age of 18, to help with:
 

• • 3 volunteers — food ticket distribution, backup for other vendor tables.
  • 3 volunteers — assist with games and photo booth.
  • 3 volunteers — traffic/parking direction assistance, encourage public in park to attend event - one person will rotate to allow volunteers for a food or general break.
