Member Support
We are actively seeking member support volunteers to respond to phone calls from members requesting volunteer support. We are looking for volunteers to come to our office (3139 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA) one day per week from 10am-2pm. You’ll have the chance chat with and meet some great folks. Come on board!
Responsibilities
Respond to AHA members' requests for volunteers for a variety of services, including:
- Transportation ( to medical appointments, grocery shopping, social engagements--especially AHA events, etc.)
- Tech support
- Home maintenance
- Organizing/decluttering
- Personal connections
- Referrals to recommended/vetted vendors
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal communication
- Organized
- Strong interest in volunteering and community service
- Interest in conversing with and supporting older adults
- Prompt
- Reliable
