Teach English to Immigrants and Refugees {Volunteer Orientation}

Are you interested in helping immigrants and refugees learn English? Come to a volunteer orientation conducted by the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia to learn more about how you can get involved: Saturday, August 4 from 10am-11:30am at the James Lee Community Center (2855 Annandale Road, Falls Church, VA 22042)

The Literacy Council's mission is to teach adults the basic skills of reading, writing, speaking and understanding English so that they can access employment and educational opportunities and more fully and equitably participate in the community. With the help of volunteers who serve as teachers, class aides, and tutors, the Literacy Council is able to teach thousands of English language learners every year. Prior teaching experience is not required to get involved -- training will be provided! LCNV also seeks committed office volunteers to assist with logistics, outreach, special events and data entry.
