Snow Buddy - Winter 2026/27
Volunteer Alexandria works with the City of Alexandria to provide low-income homeowners, seniors, and people with disabilities, snow removal assistance during the snow season through the Snow Buddy Program. The Snow Buddy Program matches city residents with volunteers who will clear sidewalks, steps, and driveways as needed throughout the entire snow season.
Participants will be matched with residents, and orientation scheduled in late November/early December. The program will be activated as soon as the first snow falls. Volunteers are encouraged to provide their own shovel, but limited shovels may be available, if needed. After signing up, volunteers will receive more details about the program and how to proceed.
