Join the Board of Wilderness Kids Alexandria

Greetings to those out there with a passion for utilizing their management experience and other expertise to give back to the community. Wilderness Kids Alexandria is looking for a few good souls to join our Board of Directors and help guide our young organization in providing life-enriching experiences in nature to teens from under-resourced families and under-served communities in Alexandria, VA. We seek to create a diverse board that offers many perspectives from a variety of careers, backgrounds, and lived experiences.

Responsibilities include:

• attending quarterly board meetings;
• supporting the organization financially according to your ability;
• assisting the organization on one specific topic each year (from organizing a Music Festival to providing legal advice; from reviewing finances to guiding our risk management process; and so on).
• drawing upon their own network to raise funds and assisting the Executive Director to expand the Wilderness Kids network of support among  foundations, businesses, and individual donors.
• other requests, as needed, to ensure the long-term stability of Wilderness Kids

Preference is for board members from Alexandria, or the DMV; however, we are also open to the right candidates from across the country.
