Portside in Old Town Summer Festival - Activity Assistant Volunteer

The Portside in Old Town Summer Festival features live music, arts and history activities, food vendors, craft beer and more! Join our event team and fulfill a critical role to bring this free event to Alexandria residents and visitors.

Activity Assistant Volunteers: Help local nonprofits such as Girls on the Run, Safe Space NOVA, and UpCycle Creative Reuse & Resource Center manage crafts or make-and-take activities. People who are young at heart, enjoy working outdoors and with children, and student volunteers may be best suited to volunteer for these positions. The position may require periods of standing and assistance with set-up and take-down of activities may be required.

Participating volunteers will be asked to wear a volunteer t-shirt during their shift. Volunteers will receive an event briefing document and may be asked to attend/watch a virtual orientation session in advance of the event.
