DIY Projects for an Act of Kindness

To spread kindness, Volunteer Alexandria is offering a variety of opportunities where volunteers can make a big difference in our city. Register as a team, or as an individual, for DIY projects that can be done together in your office, at home, outdoors, or virtually anytime. - Individuals pay a flat registration fee of $25 and will receive a DIY kit.
DIY projects can benefit anyone you want, individuals and families moving into their own space, and people who showed kindness towards someone else. - Complete the project at your leisure and post them on FB, Instagram and tweet about their experience and tag Volunteer Alexandria.

The Words of Encouragement Cards can be given to show appreciation for someone in your life or agencies who staff first responders (like police, fire fighters, etc.), health care workers, and to other local nonprofit staff who provide essential services. We think that the cards will provide a personal touch, showing kindness and caring.
Dog Toy -- The toys are for dogs at local animal shelters and in foster care waiting for adoption. These toys will help keep dogs active and mentally stimulated!
The Recipe Books will be donated to agencies who assist individuals and families moving into their own space. We think that the Recipe Book provides a personal touch, showing kindness and caring.
The Kindness Wreath should be given to someone as a thank you who has shown kindness towards someone else. Or you can donate it back to us and we will donate it to a nonprofit serving vulnerable residents.
