Space of Her Own 2022-2023 Mentor Recruitment!!!

Space of Her Own is excited to return for the 2022-2023 school year with a phenomenal class of mentors.

We hope you'll join us for an information session to learn more about how our program is structured, what our expectations are for mentors, the youth we serve, and how you can apply to become a mentor with Space of Her Own.

Using art as the catalyst, SOHO seeks to create an environment in which youth feel free to express themselves, step outside of their comfort zone, and grow. By pairing mentors one-to-one with mentees to create art together each week, we hope to create the foundation that can serve to build long-lasting bonds and mentoring relationships. Mentors and girls work on an array of projects throughout the year, from pottery to self-portraits, photography, and carpentry projects, all with the purpose of creating products that will be used to give each girl a true Space of Her Own. Towards the end of the first program schoolyear, mentors work with families to use all of the pieces that they've made together with their mentees to transform the bedroom or sleeping space of each girl.
