Family Volunteer Day 2021
Volunteer Alexandria is excited to host the 6th annual Family Volunteer Day on Saturday, November 20! Volunteering together as a family has many benefits. Working side by side provides opportunities for a shared experience, connection, and conversation, and family members get to see each other in a new light. Volunteering also cultivates empathy, encourages kindness and gratitude, and shows even the youngest child how a small positive act can make a big difference.
The pandemic changed how we normally operate Family Volunteer Day. We will put all necessary safety measure in place and reduce the number of people able to participate during one of the shifts.
Families of all ages are invited to spend time to benefit a family who may be struggling. Activities include creating gift tags for presents, decorating envelopes for gift cards, writing thank you cards, and creating a kindness wreath, which will be given to a homebound senior.
To sign up your family, please choose the 'Sign up as a team' option and list all of your family members with their ages. This will give us an accurate count of volunteers for the day!
Volunteers must be vaccinated. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ANY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS OR HAVE INTERACTED WITH COVID-19 IN THE LAST 14 DAYS, DO NOT ATTEND THIS EVENT.
