Volunteers to Help Run Drive-In Needed

alxCommunity and The Garden are hosting drive-in movies Friday and Saturday nights from October 31st to December 5th in partnership with the Alexandria Drive-In. Each weekend they are sponsoring a local nonprofit.

Volunteer Alexandria's featured weekend is Friday, November 20th and Saturday, November 21st. We are looking for volunteers to help run this event. Come join us for a fun night to celebrate Volunteer Alexandria, get involved/volunteer, and enjoy the show(s)! Friday night's show will feature Seabiscuit. Saturday's show will double feature How to Train Your Dragon and 42. 

Volunteers are needed to help run the Hospitality Center, help as Row Captains during each featured movie, check in attendees, etc. When you sign-up below, please answer the following question helping us assign you a task for the night you choose. (It will appear after you click on sign-up button below.) Please note if you sign up for Saturday there are two shifts available (3:30 - 7:30PM or 7:00PM - 11:45PM).

There will be onsite training as well as detailed information provided before your shift. Attend our informational Zoom meeting on Wednesday, November 18th to answer any questions you may have and learn more about volunteer responsibilities while onsite at the drive-in. 

Hospitality Center Volunteers - Greet guests, check to make sure everyone in the cars have masks, scan customer tickets, pass out gift bags, and direct cars to their parking spot area.
Row Captain Volunteers - Help guests find their parking spots for the show, move and arrange parked cones as needed, monitor guests (all people have to stay in cars), answer any questions the guest might have, and direct cars out of the parking lot.

Before you volunteer, please ensure:
- That you have NOT been at any places and therefore exposed where people have tested positive for COVID-19? If so, do not volunteer.
- That you DO NOT exhibit any symptoms of a respiratory illness including fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing or difficulty breathing now or in the past 14 days? If so, do NOT volunteer.
- That you or someone you live with is NOT at high risk (this includes persons who are age greater than 65; have underlying heart disease or lung disease, diabetes, liver disease; are immunocompromised, on dialysis, or have severe obesity with BMI greater than 40). If so, do NOT volunteer.
