Make a Difference Day - Wreath Kit to Make at Home

Every year on the fourth Saturday in October, volunteerism is celebrated by individuals, friends, and families when they join together for Make A Difference Day. This year Make A Difference Day falls on October 24th.
Families, friends, and individuals are welcome to order a wreath kit to help us reach seniors who are self-quarantining and may feel disconnected from others. This small action will have such a big impact! Senior Services of Alexandria's Friendly Visitor Program will help distribute these wreaths. The wreaths are a small act of kindness to let them know that they are being thought of and help connect to others while they are at home.
If you cannot volunteer in person, you can still participate in our wreath making activity! There is a small fee for the material kit. Express interest below and the Volunteer Manager will be in touch to schedule a time for pickup at the Volunteer Alexandria's office.
Kit Pick Up Days: October 15th 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM or October 16th 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Kit Drop Off Day: October 24th 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
*You must register to pre-order your material kit by October 14th 3:00 PM.
Material Kits include a wreath form for a base, recycleable and reusable materials such as but not limited to bottle caps, fabric, yarn, ribbon, glue, paint, plastic lids, paper towel rolls, CDs, etc. Each kit will vary with supplies.

Before you volunteer, please ensure:
- That you have NOT been at any places and therefore exposed where people have tested positive for COVID-19? If so, do not volunteer.
 - That you DO NOT exhibit any symptoms of a respiratory illness including fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing or difficulty breathing now or in the past 14 days? If so, do NOT volunteer.
