Food distribution in case of snow

Volunteer Alexandria in collaboration with ALIVE and the City will organize a food distribution to low income families before a snow storm hits (24 hours prior to the storm). The distribution will take place at three locations: Ladrey, Church of Resurrection and Community Lodgings. Volunteers are needed to help with organizing the food, bagging the food and helping families to carry the bags to their cars. Each location will serve 75 families. Each location needs about 8-10 volunteers and a volunteer leader who can manage the other volunteers. There will be two shifts: morning and afternoon/evening. NOTE: this project will take place BEFORE a storm will hit – in order to have families prepared with food and water in an event of snow storm.
