Volunteer chaplain
Inova Alexandria Hospital Volunteer Chaplain program is looking for new members of all faith traditions to join their team to help provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families. All of our volunteer chaplains serve as interfaith chaplans - providing appropriate and respectful spiritual and emotional care to patients and families. No proselytizing, attempts to convert or witness is acceptable. We are looking for volunteers who can commit 4 hours per week and one overnight on-call (avaialble for emergencies only) per month. Some adapatations to those hours can be made for those who work full time. We also look for volunteers who are able to commit to the program for a minimum of one year. Training and thorough orientation is given to those who join the program. Ordained or lay members are all welcome. Orientation and training, with ongoing education opportunities will be provided.
