Info session for Volunteer Reception Center and Disaster Preparedness
This is an informational orientation session for the Volunteer Reception Center, (VRC) and how to engage with Emergency and Disaster recovery as a volunteer with the VRC
The Volunteer Reception Center is like the HR Dept. of Disaster Recovery. We mobilize community volunteers in a disaster, to where they are needed. The Volunteer Reception Center is staffed by a group of trained Volunteers and Volunteer Leaders to serve in a capacity to quickly register, train, and deploy new community volunteers during a disaster. This helps support disaster response and recovery efforts safely and efficiently. This informational orientation session gives you the knowledge to be part of the disaster recovery in staffing the VRC when it is activated after a disaster.
We will cover training requirements, upcoming classes, and disaster affiliate organizations that we partner with in the City of Alexandria.
