About Us:
Liberty’s Promise is dedicated to empowering low-income immigrant youth by providing them with the tools and support needed to engage actively in civic life, pursue higher education, and build meaningful careers. Through our programs, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where young people can thrive and contribute to their communities.

Position:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated volunteer who is fluent or bilingual in Spanish to support our Civics & Citizenship Junior program at Hammond Middle School. This role requires a commitment of up to 4 days a week, from 9-11 am and twice weekly from 12-2pm (exact days vary depending on A/B day schedule of school), offering a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of young immigrants.

Responsibilities:

• Attend program sessions during the designated hours.
• Assist with live translation between our program coordinator and students, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Help facilitate engaging and meaningful conversations within the program.
• Support students as they learn about civic engagement and community involvement.
