City of Alexandria Domestic Violence Program

The Domestic Violence Program (DVP) is a 24-hour, 7 day a week, self-help program of the Department of Community and Human Services. The DVP provides emergency shelter, 24-hour hotline, outreach counseling, court advocacy, women's support groups in English and Spanish, and a children's counseling program. The shelter offers emergency housing, food and emotional support in a safe, comfortable house licensed to accommodate 18 people. We are looking for volunteers to work weekend evenings, overnights and holidays staffing our hotline.
