Below is Alexandria’s most up-to-date list of nonprofit needs. This list is updated on a regular basis, so check back regularly to see the latest items needed to support our most vulnerable populations during this critical time. Thank you for caring for our community!

ALIVE! House

In-kind needs: Toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning products, Tide laundry detergent, dryer sheets; dish liquid; gloves; healthy snacks for kids; gift cards for possible supplies

Drop off details: Drop off Mondays or Wednesdays between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the side door. Please ring the doorbell. 125 S Payne Street

 

 

Dunbar Olympic Boys & Girls Club

In-kind needs: Gloves and masks for families

Campagna Center

In-kind needs: Diapers needed for their local diaper drives at First Baptist Church

Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington

In-kind needs: Food (canned, boxed, shelf-stable, non-perishable), diapers/baby wipes, car seats, and household items/cleaning products

Notes: St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception only accepts diapers, car seats and gift cards only

 

City of Alexandria’s Domestic Violence program:

In-kind needs: Any pantry goods; cleaning supplies

Drop off details: Call 703-746-4911 between 9-5 p.m. to make arrangements

 

Computer C.O.R.E.:

In-kind needs:100 laptops (Intel core i3, i5, or i7 AMD, Ryzen or equivelent, 8gb RAM, SSD Solid State Drive, preferred), 2 to 3 inch binders, flashdrives

King Street Cats

In-kind needs: Fresh Step non-scoopable cat litter

New Hope Housing

In-kind needs: Men and Women's New Underwear, New T-shirts/undershirts, cleaning supplies, prepared andunprepared food for shelters, hand sanitizer and hand soap, Gift cards (grocery stores, Walmart, Target, Amazon) - Items can be found on the Amazon Wish List.

Drop-off details: If community members can purchase and drop off, items can be dropped off at the following locations. There will be designated tables at the facilities where donors can drop off without entering the building. Neighborhood Health

In-kind needs: Disposable face or surgical masks (not homemade - the packages can be opened, but unused), isolation gowns (unused), face shields (unused), cloth face masks for distribution to patients, pulse oximeters - fingertip, digital termometers, blood pressure cuffs (unused), N95 respirators (the packages can be opened, but unused), gloves (disposable, unopened packages), hand sanitizer (unopened packages), disinfectants and disinfecting wipes (unopened).

Northern Virginia Family Service

In-kind needs: Diapers (especially larger sizes), cleaning supplies (Lysol Spray, wipes, all purpose cleaner, bleach, etc.), hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap, grocery store gift cards, new children's underwear and socks). Donations can be purchased through their Amazon Wish List

Drop-off details: mail to NVFS Headquarters, 10455 White Granite Drive, Suite 100, Oakton, VA 22124. If in-person delivery is preferred, contact khorowitz@nvfs.org and arrangements can be made to deliver to the NVFS Head Start Center in Arlington, 2920 S. Glebe Road, Arlington 22204

 

Volunteers of America Chesapeake

In-kind needs: Over the Counter Medications (Tylenol, Advil, Cough Syrup, Pepto Bismol); Laundry Detergent; Shampoo/Soap/Conditioner; Toothbrushes/ Toothpaste; Peanut Butter/Jelly; Canned Tunafish; Granola Bars; Crackers; Canned Soup; Canned Fruit; Applesauce
