Care Packages for Impacted Households from COVID-19

Join Volunteer Alexandria on January 18th, 2021 virtually at 1:00 PM to learn how to make laundry detergent at home! We will also be discussing other items that can be included, instructions on how to donate your care packages, and how you can make these care packages even more special with a few special touches! These care packages will be paired with a nonprofit who works with clients/participants in receiving essential items. Sign up HERE. Please note to participate in this activity, Volunteer Alexandria will need you to sign our volunteer liability form. Once registration is complete, instructions with the Zoom link to access the meeting will be provided. 

Materials/Tools to Gather Before Meeting:

1. Borax
2. Washing Soda
3. Original Blue Dawn Soap
4. Gallon Container with Tight Fitting Lid
5. Gloves
6. Optional Items (These items can be replaced with other household items to include in the kit.)
   • Hand Soap
   • Hand Sanitizer
   • Sponges
   • Paper Towels
   • Tooth Paste
   • Shampoo/Conditioner
   • Body Wash/Bar Soap
   • Granola Bars
   • Cooking Spices
   • Crackers
   • Cereal
   • Other essiental items for hygiene, cleaning, and/or shelf-stable goods can be used
   • Container, box, or something that can be used to hold donated items

If you wish to participate in creating a care package, but cannot attend the virtual meeting please email Courtney to disuss future arrangements, etc.

• Friday, January 22^nd 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
