Create Something More. "By nurturing the artist, we enrich the community." The Art League develops the artist through education, exhibition, and a stimulating, supportive environment, while sharing the experience of the visual arts with the community. Volunteers assist in exhibit installation, hospitality, and events. The Art League serves 8,000+ artists annually through mission-based visual arts educational programs in its gallery, school and outreach projects. We provide life-changing programs to Alexandria's underserved through our IMPart program: Injured Military Personnel, providing hands-on ceramics and metal-working classes for Ft. Belvoir's PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury patients. The League provides visual arts education projects for court-identified at-risk Alexandria youth through partnering with other local nonprofits such as Space of Her Own. Annually the League's gallery attracts 70,000+ visitors, with an economic impact of each visitor estimated to spend an average of $18 per visit.
