The Arlington Diocese Refugee Services, an affiliate of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Office of Migration and Refugee Services (USCCB/MRS) is the largest refugee service provider in Northern Virginia and has resettled over 20,000 refugees in the Northern Virginia Community since 1975. This year alone, we expect to assist over 900 refugees. We believe that it is necessary to address the needs of the body, mind, and spirit of the population we serve in order to provide them with the tools needed for self-sufficiency and independence in America. With the assistance of local faith communities, organizations, and individuals, we provide a comprehensive range of services including: all basic needs during first 30-90 days after arrival including housing and household furniture as well as transportation to necessary appointments. Our staff also provides orientation, counseling, interpretation, employment, acculturation services, and referrals to Social Services, health services, and school systems.
