Organization Profile
RESET is a Washington D.C. based non-profit volunteer organization. Our goal is to show elementary school students that science learning is exciting and fun. We hope to reverse the growth in the percentage of U.S. students who lose interest in science by the time they reach high school. ReSET volunteers are retired or actively-employed professionals with knowledge in the sciences, mathematics, or engineering. RESET volunteers partner with elementary school teachers to design programs of hands-on science or math activities that achieve the goals of both RESET and the teacher. Each term RESET volunteers lead classes of local students in six one-hour sessions of scientific experiments followed by field trips appropriate to the areas under study. RESET has an orientation program for new volunteers, and assists volunteers with experiments, school placement, and program execution. EeSET provides supplies and equipment
