Alexandria Adult Day Services Center

The mission of the Alexandria Adult Day Services Center is to provide caregivers a needed break and the comfort of knowing that their loved one will be spending the day with new friends and activities that they will enjoy. In addition program participants will enjoy meals and receive one to one health monitoring from the center nurse.

Volunteer Purpose: Volunteers are needed on a weekly basis for the following requests below. The activities schedules for programs are 10:15 am, 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 2:15 pm. Alexandria Adult Day Service Center, Department of Aging and Adult Services Lead Senior Zumba Chair Exercise Bring in pets for Pets for Therapy Sessions Lead and instruct Arts & Craft Activities Lead Baking Senior Class Use Your Creativity to Decorate Large Monthly Activity & Birthday Board Prepare and lead Flower Arrangement Class Lead Cognitive Travelogue or Historical Discussion Group or Visit from Veterans Men & Ladies Group Lead Bingo, Wheel of Fortune, Board & Word Games, and Trivia Need Carpenters to Refurbished Senior outside Wooden Gazebo outside Patio Area Need Painters for center kitchen area Power wash outside of center entrance and patio area Partnership with individual senior participants for singing choral Decorating for the Holidays Chaperone with senior for center outings (Museums, restaurants, and etc. Computer skills for creating monthly activity calendars and meal menus Participate in Walking groups with seniors in recreational center
