Teen Academic Social Support for Latino Youth Chirilagua

"Teens Club" is Casa Chirilagua's middle school program, targeting academic, social, emotional and spiritual learning. Volunteers will provide Middle School students with homework assistance, help facilitate small group discussion for mental health curriculum, participate in games/ activities with students. 

The program runs 1.5 hours with a monthly additional volunteer/staff check in for the final 30 minutes. The first hour is study hall for one to one academic support for teens. The final 30 minutes will be a group activity Tuesdays or a Bible devotional Thursdays. August 29th-December 14th 4-6pm

Note: As most of our volunteer opportunities are with children, we require all volunteers to submit a volunteer application with references, complete a background check, participate in child safety training, and program training. All these efforts are to keep our children safe. As a faith-based not-for-profit, we openly offer Christian education at our programs. It is not a requirement to subscribe to a certain faith to volunteer, but we do suggest only those comfortable with open Christian teaching to volunteer.

Required to volunteer:

1. Willingness to commit to weekly volunteering either Tuesdays or Thursdays 4-6pm for the entire semester

4. Doing a 2 hour online orientation including vision for the organization at large, our child protection policy and a quiz to communicate a commitment to abide by the policy.
