Breaks With Impact Summer 2023 - Volunteer Opportunities for Youth
Make a difference during our Breaks With Impact (BWI) program this summer. BWI is a chance for students - grades 6 through 12 - to learn about the issues facing their community and to do something about it. Participants will engage with non-profits, city agencies, and people from all walks of life as they earn service hours and explore career paths. Half-day programs will be open to all students, grades 6 through 12. This year's programming is brought to you by Ting Internet.
Wednesday, July 12: Food & Grocery Distribution (9 a.m. to Noon)
Thursday, July 13: Food & Grocery Distribution (10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
Tuesday, July 18: Park clean-up/Invasive Species removal, host organization: National Park Service ( 1 to 4 pm)
Thursday, July 20: Volunteering with Seniors at a Senior Center (9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), host organization: St. Martin de Porres Senior Center
Tuesday, July 25: Volunteering at a home for returning citizens from incarceration (1 to 4 pm), host organization: Friends of Guest House
Thursday, July 27: Food Insecurity (Food Packing), host organization: ALIVE!
Saturday, August 12: Park clean-up and invasive species removal along the Mt. Vernon Trial, host organization: Friends of Mt. Vernon
Age Minimum (with Adult): 12+, Minimum Age:12+
