Nutritionist

Needed as soon as possible: Certified Nutritionist/ Dietitian. Friends of Guest House is a non-profit located in Del Ray, Alexandria.  We provide reentry services to women returning from incarceration.  Our program is residential and we house 30 women at a time.  During their 6 month residency with FOGH, women are responsible for cooking their own meals.  To remain in compliance with the Department of Corrections and to assure that our residents are receiving proper nutrition, we need a certified Nutritionist to help our staff create new menus and to certify that these menus are up to the proper standards. 

Duties will consist of:

Creating new- balanced menus/ shopping lists for the Residents at Friends of Guest House

Approving new menus for Friends of Guest House Residents. 

Needs: 

The volunteer needs to have a current certification in nutrition and will have to provide proof of certification. 

Additional Details:

The volunteer will work in conjunction with the Director of Programing and the Volunteer Coordinator.  This opportunity is flexible in length and time, but it is asked that the volunteer assist staff for around 3 weeks , as the menus are created and approved.  This volunteer is welcome to continue to work with Friends of Guest House once this project is complete.
