MLK Day: Activity Kits for Center for Alexandria's Children
Join Volunteer Alexandria on MLK Day January 18th, 2021!
Center for Alexandria's Children is teaming up with Volunteer Alexandria to collect supplies to put together activity kits for their Learn & Playgroup program. Please consider donating any of the items listed below to be put together in an activity kit for each child part of their program. They are looking to put 100 activity kits together. Help us reach their goal! Express interest below to let us know you are interested in donating an activity kit or would like to donate an item(s) to put towards a kit(s).
Items for Activity Kits:
- Play dough (2 - 8 oz tubs in different colors)
- Markers (8-10 count)
- Bubble Wand
- Sidewalk Chalk (4 colors)
- Glue stick (1)
- Sand Pail & Shovel (like this one)
- Small Beach Ball (6")
- *All packaged in a new or like new reusable grocery bag
Drop off details:
Please drop off donations at Volunteer Alexandria’s office at the following times. We are arranging drop-offs of the donations to each organization, so we can give them everything at once.

Days/Times:
- Tuesday, January 19th 3:00 – 5:00 PM (Due to safety concerns and city closures, we have cancelled this drop off time)
- Wednesday, January 20th 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Due to safety concerns and city closures, we have cancelled this drop off time)
- Thursday, January 21st 4:00 – 7:00 PM
- Friday, January 22nd 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Before you volunteer, please ensure:
- That you have NOT been at any places and therefore exposed where people have tested positive for COVID-19? If so, do not volunteer.
- That you DO NOT exhibit any symptoms of a respiratory illness including fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing or difficulty breathing now or in the past 14 days? If so, do NOT volunteer.

Age Minimum (with Adult): 6+, Minimum Age:13+
