Volunteer Emergency Families for Children (VEFC)

Volunteer Emergency Families for Children (VEFC) trains and supports volunteers who provide short-term shelter care and mentoring to abused, neglected, runaway, homeless and at-risk children throughout Virginia. VEFC is a private non-profit agency created in 1979 by the Virginia Council of Churches in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Social Services and the Virginia Department of Corrections. VEFC has programs in Northern Virginia in the following localities: City of Alexandria, Arlington County, and Fairfax County.
