About Skills Connect
Skills-based volunteering is an excellent way for professionals to engage their talents and expertise to strengthen the capacity of nonprofits. This type of volunteering involves projects that require a specific skill to complete – thereby providing critical support to the nonprofits that strive to stretch their resources and expand their impact. For example, an organization might need a volunteer with a background in accounting to review their existing financial policies and procedures, or a marketing professional might help design an annual report.
To match skilled volunteers to the needs of local organizations, we’ve launched Skills Connect — an online system that helps nonprofits develop and post skills-based volunteer opportunities that are well-scoped and structured to accomplish a key goal. The system then allows volunteers to express interest in volunteer opportunities, which nonprofits can accept based on the skills needed for the project and the skills offered by the volunteer.
