ALIVE! Truck-to-Trunk DRIVER - Cora Kelly ES

Truck-to-Trunk Drivers Needed! Saturday, October 31st
ALIVE! needs volunteers who can drive a 16' box truck to transport food from the COVID-19 emergency food staging location to Truck-to-Truck mass food distribution sites. This is a mission-critical job. If your plans change, you MUST NOTIFY US IMMEDIATELY. No driver means no food, which means no distribution.

Pick up truck at 116 S. Quaker Ln. at 7:00am and drive to designated distribution site. Return truck to warehouse when distribution is done to offload supplies.

Driver will help on-stie with other distribution tasks, based on need (e.g., unload/load, traffic control, food distributor, etc.).

Reporting location: 116 S. Quaker Ln, Alexandria, VA 22314

Distribution/destination site: Cora Kelly Elementary School - 3600 Commonwealth Ave, Alexandria, VA 22305

Time: 7:00am - 11:30am (or until done, usually by noon)

You will be asked to take your temperature with a no-contact thermometer befoe you begin work. Close-toed shoes required. Gloves will be provided.

All volunteers must wear cloth face coverings. If you do not have one, one will be provide. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. Volunteers should fashion face coverings from household items or common materials, such as clean T-shirts or other clean cloths that can cover the nose and mouth area. Medical personal protective equipment such as N95 respirators or surgical masks will not be necessary for this purpose as these should be reserved for the appropriate personnel.

Please note, students are not allowed to volunteer at this time.

All volunteers who are at high risk of severe disease or who have someone in their household who is high risk (this includes persons who are age greater than 65; have underlying heart disease or lung disease, diabetes, liver disease; are immunocompromised, on dialysis, or have severe obesity with BMI greater than 40) should NOT volunteer. 

Before you volunteer, please ensure:
- That you have you NOT been at any places and therefore exposed where people have tested posted for COVID-19? If so, do not volunteer.
- That you DO NOT exhibit any symptoms of a respiratory illness including fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing or difficulty breathing now or in the past 24 hours? If so, do not volunteer.
