Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy Mentor

Mentors are at the heart and soul of what we do at the Academy. Mentors come once a week to work with Scholar-Athletes in various games and activities designed to help Scholar-Athletes learn and grow into determined students, supportive teammates and catalysts for positive change in our community. Our mentors work to cultivate a positive relationship with mentees that have a lasting impact for years to come.

Core Program Classroom: T, W, Th 3:30-6 pm come as you can to work with our Scholar-Athletes on homework, reading, or doing 1:1 math games.

-          Core Program Baseball/SB: T, W, Th 3:30- 6 pm come as you can to work on drills and games to help teach the game, teamwork,  and hustling.

-          PLAY: M  6-8 pm, work with kids new to baseball on fundamentals of baseball, and play games using modified rules.

-          Girls SB PLAY Clinics: Th 7:15-8:30 pm work on the fundamentals of softball  through drills and competitions, and the rules of the game.

-          Mentoring: Come once a week for the full school year from 6-7:30 pm to work with your mentee on provided assignments in teamwork, goal setting, and build a meaningful relationship.

The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy looks to nurture the development of D.C. youth into thriving members and leaders of our community. The mission of the Academy is to use the sports of baseball and softball as vehicles to foster positive character development, academic achievement and improved health among youth from underserved communities in Washington, D.C. Scholar-Athletes participate in a year-round program that includes STEM and literacy, baseball and softball programs, and food education.
