Join the Inova Healthy Plate Club at Creekside Community Center this spring! For eight weeks, 4th and 5th grade students will learn about healthy eating through games, activities and cooking. Volunteers will help students cook recipes like kale chips, breakfast burritos, egg muffins, and cauliflower nugget. Activities include measuring the sugar in soda and sports drinks, making a MyPlate craft, and planting basil to take home.
The Healthy Plate Club will be held at Creekside Community Center on these Mondays: April 8, April 22, April 29, May 6, May 13, May 20, June 3 and June 10.
To comply with community center policies, volunteers will do a background check at no cost to you. Volunteers are asked to commit to three or more classes at this school.
