Teach ESOL in NOVA {Volunteer Orientation}

Can you imagine being unable to read this website, a street sign, instructions on a bottle of medicine, or even a note from your child's teacher? Have you ever wanted to make a real difference in the community? By volunteering with the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia, you can change the lives of adults who want to develop basic reading, writing, and English speaking skills.

To learn how you can get involved, come to LCNV's next Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, March 7 from 10am-11:30am at the James Lee Community Center (Room 111).

With the help of volunteers who serve as teachers, class aides, tutors and testers, the Literacy Council is able to teach hundreds of English language learners at 15 different sites across Northern Virginia. Prior teaching experience is ideal but not required to get involved -- training, curriculum, and support will be provided.

Contact Amy Tristan at atristan@lcnv.org for more information.
