Active Shooter Training
Volunteer Alexandria is hosting an Active Shooter Training with the support of the National Safety Council (NSC)and American Legion Post 24. The event takes place on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m. The NSC is a nonprofit whose mission is to eliminate preventable deaths. They educate and advocate for safe behaviors and should people find themselves in an active shooter situation, there are key behaviors that can help save lives. Our speakers for the night: Mike Mixon, Doug Gurka and Jim McDermott from the American Legion Post 24, will teach you how to prepare, respond and recover from an active shooter event. Volunteers interested to attend the class, are asked to sign up on Volunteer Alexandria's website as well as on the NSC website. The link is here:
