ALIVE! Housewares Program
ALIVE! Housewares Program The ALIVE! Housewares Program accepts donated housewares, including pots and pans, utensils, towels, sheets, blankets, dishes, silverware, and clothing. These housewares are brought by donors to Fairlington United Methodist Church, 3900 King Street, where program volunteers sort them for distribution to those in need. • Moving donated items from the hallway at FUMC into the designated room (at least twice a week) and sorting them. • Assembling “pots & pans starter kits” and “dishes starter kits” from the donated items. • Monitoring and responding to referrals by social workers and ALIVE! congregations and delivering requested items to those appropriately referred. • Packing and delivering housewares for distribution at two Last Saturday Food sites. • Tracking the number and type of donations made, and the number of deliveries made and volume of Last Saturday distributions.
