17th Annual Business Philanthropy Summit, emceed by Rebecca Cooper, WJLA/ABC 7 and Channel 8. The Summit was all about investing in our community and over 250 business and community leaders registered to be part of it.  We hope that you enjoyed your morning with us and our guest speakers.  It was certainly inspiring and great to meet so many people interested in investing in our community.  SunTrust and SunTrust Foundation are a wonderful example of how businesses and individuals can get involved and as Chris Hartman said, there is really something for everyone to give.  Congressman Don Beyer, who encouraged us nonprofit leaders in the audience to cherish it's donors so they keep investing in our causes.  Four awards were given this year and we congratulate the following 2015 Awardees 

Carney, Inc., John Carney, President & CEO received the Large Business Philanthropist of the Year;

The Del Ray Business Association, Bill Blackburn current President received the Small Business Philanthropist of the Year;

Kitty Porterfield, Board Member at the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia received the Board Leader of the Year

John PorterCEO & President of ACT for Alexandria was given the Nonprofit Leader of the Year.
